AboutMe

I graduated from the University of Missouri — Columbia, class of 2017, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Journalism. My emphasis area is Magazine Editing, though I have varied experience in several journalism fields. After graduation, I became an editor in the publishing industry at World Book.

The spring of 2017 I worked for Vox Magazine. As Scene department editor, I pitched stories, researched, found sources, edited and fact-checked for print and online. I also served as associate managing editor for print production, organized art and worked with designers.

The spring of 2016 I interned at Made in Shoreditch as a writer and editor in London. Made in Shoreditch is an arts & culture fashion, tech city and food & drink online magazine. As part of a study abroad program through the journalism school, I both worked and took classes in London.

The fall of 2015 I worked for the Columbia Missourian. The newspaper was treated as both a class and a job. I wrote for general assignment and the Public Safety and Health Beat. The job included pitching and writing articles both long and short-form and covering breaking news.

The summer of 2015 I interned at Paradigm NEXT in Chicago. Paradigm is a digital marketing agency that specializes in remaking or creating websites. I worked as a copywriter and editor for internal and external projects.
